Carl Walter Johnson of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 4th, 2023 at Mercy Hospital of Anderson at the age of 75. He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 2nd, 1947 to the late Walter and Johanna Johnson. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Johnson. Following his years at home in McKeesport, Carl attended college at the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business. It was in St. Petersburg, Florida where Carl would meet Sandy, the love of his life and on Thursday, December 14th, 1972, Carl and Sandy were united in marriage, a union that would last for over 40 years. Carl would be called upon to bravely serve his country in the United States Army when he was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War during the early 1970’s. After returning home from combat, Carl and Sandy would settle in Indiana where they would start a family while he continued to serve in the National Guard. Carl and Sandy would soon be blessed with their four adoring children: Matthew (Michelle) Johnson of Tampa, Florida, Mark (Lisa) Johnson of Elsmere, Kentucky, Jennifer Johnson of Burlington, Kentucky, and Jamie (Paul) Eggleston of Union, Kentucky. He is also survived by his brother, Walter (Susan) Johnson of Dayton, Ohio. In 1989, Carl would begin his career as a commercial realtor, working at Huff Realty selling properties across Northern Kentucky. It would soon become clear that real estate was his calling as Carl would work in the industry for over 30 years, even earning the achievement of joining the “Million Dollar Club” for all of his sales and success within the industry. He never stopped working, even after becoming ill, he persevered and continued to serve his clients until his final days. Carl leaves a legacy of his eight beloved Grandchildren: Braden Johnson, Ella Johnson, Caleb Moher, Seth Moher, Nolan Moher, Lily Eggleston, Wyatt Eggleston, and Ayden Halliday; they will all dearly miss their Papa. Carl took solace in the fact that he would soon be reunited with his treasured Boxer-Mastiff Mix, Indie, who passed shortly before him A private service will be held for Carl by his family and friends to honor him, his legacy, and the beautiful life he lived. He will be laid to rest along side his fellow veterans at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky. ReplyForward
