Cecil Merdith Scott

March 18, 1952 — July 16, 2024

Cecil Merdith Scott, 72, of Corinth, KY, entered his eternal home on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 18, 1952, in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Cecil Merdith and Martha Louise Burns Scott.

On October 15, 2009, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn Marie Hammonds Scott.  For many years, he worked as a Machine Builder for the Mazak Corporation in Florence. At an early age he took up professional photography, which became a lifelong interest.  He exercised his technical expertise and creativity to produce and capture images of natural scenery, plants and wildlife; he honed his skills to develop a large portfolio of pictures which he appropriately named “Crooked Creek Images”. His uncanny sense of humor will cause his legacy to be further intensified as a steam train enthusiast and lover of motorcycles, coupled with an ardent zeal for never passing up a good yard sale.

He leaves to carry on his love for life and family, his sons: Michael Todd (Amy) Scott of Springfield, OH, Jamie (Julie) Epperson of Falmouth, KY; his daughters: Stephanie Rene Richardson of Dry Ridge, KY, Sherri Bolton of Beverly Hills, FL, Stephanie Parish of Lexington; his sisters: Dora Gordon of Williamstown, KY, Tammy (Tim) Garland of Dry Ridge, KY and Debbie (Patrick) Arnold of Burlington, KY.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren: Taylor (Sam) Hasty, Collin (Madeline) Hasty, Madison (Troy) Scott, Brian Richardson, Skylar Richardson, Olivia Richardson, Stevie (Garry) Couch, James Bolton, Joseph Bolton, Isaiah Bolton, Christopher Parish, Owen Parish and Dusty Johnson, along with five great-grandchildren: Bennett, Zadie, Myles, Kendall and Willow.  Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife and parents, is a daughter, Amy Johnson.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 23, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown.  Funeral services will begin at 7:00 with Rev.  Landon Scott officiating.
