Cecil 'Tom' New

Mr. Cecil Byrd 'Tom' New, a Corinth resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Grant Co., on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the age of 87.

Tom was a former tobacco and cattle farmer for most of his life.  He was a member of the Grant Co. Masonic Lodge, a Gideon, and loved gardening, outdoors and working with his horses.

On May 16, 1934, Tommy was born to the late John Newton New and Lillian Owens New. Tom is survived by one son, Jeffrey Allen New of Corinth, KY, one sister, Julie James of Jeffersonville, IN, one half-sister, Shirley Mayden of Jeffersonville, IN, and two granddaughters, Victoria Kay New and Gabrielle Dawn New and one great granddaughter, Madelyn Kay White.  Tom was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie New, John Franklin New, Claude New, two sisters, Pearl Dailey and Ann Mozingo and one grandson, Thomas Allen New.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 11am-1pm.  Funeral services will be at 1pm.  Pastor D. "Milkweed" Wotier will be officiating services.  Burial will follow in the Raven's Creek Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Grant Co. Masonic Lodge #85, P.O. Box 311, Williamstown, KY 41097.
