Charles Glen Abney

Mr. Charles Glen Abney, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 90.  He was the husband of the late Aline Abney.

Glen was born on May 3, 1931 to the late Claude and Georgia Jones Abney in Climax, KY.  He was a former farmer and laborer for WR Grace for 15 years. He loved cattle, pig and chicken farming, vegetable gardening, making moonshine and was a major contributor to the "Feed the Children" program.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.

Glen is survived by two sons, Larry and Jerry Abney, two daughters, Pamela Abney and Phyllis Kindoll, one brother, Blaine Abney (Aline), two sisters, Jean Kidd, Shirley Kidwell, sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  Glen was preceded in death by three sons, Harold, Charles "Chuck" and Billy Abney, one daughter, Marilyn Colson, three brothers, Donnie, Ronnie and Gerald Abney, and four sisters, Beatrice French, Geneva Thomas, Theresa George and Marie Peters.

Visitation will be Monday, January 31, 2022 from 12noon - 2pm at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge, KY.  Funeral services will be at 2pm.  Burial will follow at the Crittenden Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home on behalf of the family.
