Charles Edward Raleigh

Charles "Charlie" Edward Raleigh, age 94, of Williamstown, KY, passed away Thanksgiving Day November 24, 2022 at his residence.  Born Saturday April 28, 1928 in Breathitt County, KY, he was the son of the late Joe T. and Lizzie Deaton Raleigh.

On October 10, 1949, "Charlie” was united in marriage to the former Helen Marie Baker; she preceded him in death on December 13, 2006. He served as a shipping clerk for Cincinnati Sheet Metal and Roofing for many years. Spending time cultivating vegetables in his garden, hunting and tilling the soil of the farm brought him much satisfaction. In later years he trained oxen to plough the farmland. Over the years he fervently served as a Deacon at Violet Ridge Church of Christ, an Elder and Deacon at Williamstown Christian Church and most recently a faithful member of Fairview Christian Church but will best be remembered for his knowledge and understanding of the Bible, which he diligently read and lived out in his  daily life.

He leaves to carry on his legacy, three sons: Dwight Lee (Patsy) Raleigh of Erlanger, Joe T. Raleigh of Williamstown and Henry Edward (Paula) Raleigh of Union.  Five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by all his siblings.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12 Noon at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown location, with Bro. Wayne Rice officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
