Charles Edward Long

Chuck Long was born Aug. 31, 1942 in Greenville, PA and passed away Aug. 5, 2021 in Ft. Thomas, KY at the age of 78. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Edna Deets Long. Chuck was a veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served our country during Vietnam in Laos and Thailand. He was a consultant in disaster recovery and business continuity. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and was passionate about soccer and baseball. On Aug. 21, 1966 Chuck was united in marriage to Geneva Barnett Long. In addition to his wife of almost 55 years, Chuck is survived by a son: Scott Long and his wife Tammy of Dry Ridge; a daughter: Julie Herndon of Grove City, PA; a sister: Nancy Sopher of Grove City, PA; 3 grandchildren: Trinity Faith Long, Joshua Zavier Long and Tyler Herndon; and a great grandchild: Leo. He was preceded in death by a grandchild: Michael Herndon. Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021 in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.
