Charlotte Gullion Cunningham

Charlotte Ray Gullion Cunningham of the Walton-Verona Community passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY at the age of 81 years.

Charlotte was born October 30, 1941 in Carrollton, KY to the late Ray Dean and Norval Pearl Marsh Gullion. She was a retired Registered Nurse and Hospital Administrator for the St. Elizabeth Hospitals. On July 29, 1995 she was united in marriage to her husband, John T. Cunningham. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife, and caregiver, which was her life’s passion.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Roger Smith.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Cunningham of Walton; two daughters, Stacy Owen of Louisville, KY and Rachel (Andrea Hewitt) Owen of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Emily Trask of Louisville, KY; two step-sons, John W. (Kathy) Cunningham of Lucasville, OH and Glen (Suzanne McDonough) Cunningham of Deer Park, OH; and many treasured family and friends.

The family offers a heartfelt thanks to longtime caregiver, Melissa Bybee.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY followed by burial in the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will also be 11:00am-1:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
