Christine Laverne Grubbs

Christine Laverne Elliston Grubbs, 88, of Elliston, KY, passed away on September 2, 2018 in Elliston, KY.

Christine was born in Elliston, KY to Lacy Blanche Alexander Elliston Kannady and James Knox Polk Elliston on December 2, 1929. She went to school in Elliston, KY.  She married Willard Ira Grubbs on December 27, 1958 in Elliston, KY.  She worked as Assistant Post Master for the Elliston Post Office for a number of years and was a housewife.  She was the last charter member of the Elliston Baptist Church to pass away.

Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Polk, her husband, Willard, brother Harold Elliston, Step Brothers John William "Edsel" Kannady and Phillip Kannady.

Christine is survived by daughter Tammy (Vincent) Woolley, grandson, Lenton V. (Taylor) Woolley III, 3 great grandsons, Vin, Wyatt, and Leland Woolley, half-sister Judy Kannady (Dale) Jackson, sister-in-law Marlene Wilson Elliston and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 11am-1pm on Saturday, September 8, 2018.  Funeral will follow at 1pm. Services held at the Elliston Baptist Church, 5750 Elliston - Mt. Zion Rd., Dry Ridge, KY, with Rev. Don Kannady officiating.  Burial will follow at the New Vine Run Cemetery. Arrangements are by Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown, KY.

The family wishes that memorials be given to the Grant County Animal Shelter or the Elliston Baptist Church.
