Clara Ackman

Mrs. Clara Marksberry Ackman of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, October 14 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 84.  Mrs. Ackman was born May 7, 1935 in Grant County, KY. to the late Joseph and Lola B. Roland Marksberry.  Mrs. Ackman was a retired housekeeper and a long time member of the Williamstown Christian Church.  During years past Mrs. Ackman formerly served as a Sunday school teacher and assisted in the nursery and any church activity was very important to her.  Mrs. Ackman enjoyed reading and when she was able enjoyed being outside working in the yard.  Mrs. Ackman also enjoyed participating in a bit of a lost art, writing letters.  She corresponded with numerous pen pals throughout the country.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ackman was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ackman on March 13, 1994.  She was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Rice and by brothers: David Marksberry and Joe Marksberry.

Mrs. Ackman is survived by a son: Donald Ackman, Jr. of Williamstown, KY., a daughter: Marcella Brown and her husband David of Williamstown, KY., a grandson: Jason Brown of Dry Ridge, KY., brothers: Bobby Marksberry of Williamstown, KY., Rev. Paul Marksberry of Williamstown, KY., sisters: Catherine Mullins of Williamstown, KY., and Lola Horn of Lexington, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Marksberry Ackman will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, October 19 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY. 41097.  Visitation will also be there on Saturday, October 19 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
