Clifford "Lyle 'Pig Iron' " Spillman

Mr. Clifford "Lyle" 'Pig Iron' Spillman, a Demossville resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at his residence on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the age of 80.  He was the husband of Brenda Bailey Spillman.

Lyle was a salesman for Redeker and Dick Office Equipment for 20 years and farmed his entire life. He was a deacon and active member of the Gardnersville Baptist Church and a member of the Gardnersville Cemetery board.  He loved hunting, fishing, travelling, playing softball, woodworking and visiting amish country.  He was an avid UK Basketball fan and a talented artist.  His family says he was meticulous about keeping his yard mowed and farm clean.

Lyle was born in Dry Ridge, KY on  April 22, 1942 to the late Clark Tenneyson Spillman and Edna Tucker Spillman.  On October 9, 1963 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Brenda Kay Bailey.  From this union, was born one son, Jeff Spillman of Demossville, KY.  In addition to his wife and son, Lyle is survived by two brothers, Larry Dale (Peggy) Spillman of Mt. Zion, KY, Allen Wade (Kim) Spillman of Florence, KY, two sisters, Patricia L. Bingham of Crittenden, KY, Carol Ann (Patrick) True of Mont Eagle, TN, two grandchildren, Jared and Raven and two great grandchildren, Kender and Avah.  Lyle was preceded in death by one grandson, Keith Spillman and one brother, Homer Tenneyson Spillman.

Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2023 from 11am-2pm at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY.  Funeral Services will be at 2pm.  Services will be officiated by Bro. Denny Gosney and Bro. Ron Livingood.  Burial will follow in the Gardnersville Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Gideon's International.
