Colton Tyler Williams , age 14 – Crittenden, KY. It is with much sadness of heart that we announce the passing of an outstanding, impressive young man, Colton Tyler Williams. Colton passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 26, 2024 at his residence. Born on April 1, 2010 in Edgewood, KY, he was the son of Robert “Robbie” Marshall and Marlana Ranee Williams Jump III.
Colton was an 8th grader at Williamstown Independent Schools where he was actively involved in the FFA. He was a precocious young lad that understood the principles of hard work and the virtue of helping others in need. Having an energetic and enthusiastic nature about him, he endeared himself to everyone that knew him. His love for farming and his infectious desire to always be doing something creative and productive; namely, tearing something up and attempting to “fix” it, identified his character and nature. After getting home from school on Friday, he mowed the yard and tilled the garden. He had an exceptional love for gardening, trucks and anything “John Deere”; he had an extraordinary admiration for his John Deere tractor, “Bobo”. The greatest legacy of Colton’s young life will be…having a big heart, being kind, compassionate and generous toward others; his most commendable ambition in life was to “someday own his own farm and feed all the hungry people in Grant County.”
The ripple effects of his short but purposeful life will be forever carried on by his parents: Robbie and Marlana Jump III of Crittenden; his brother: Jasper Jump and sister: Ivy Jump, both of Crittenden; his maternal grandparents: Lafe Williams of Williamstown, Richard and Regina Turner of Williamstown; his paternal grandparents: Karen Jump of Crittenden, Bobby (Margaret Leicht) Jump of Glencoe and his “surrogate” grandparents: Mark and Nancy Zaffuto of Williamstown. He was preceded in death by a sister: Chloe Jump of Crittenden.
In honor of Colton’s love for farming, the family requests a special Dress Code: Boots and Jeans!!! Visitation will be Thursday May 2, 2024 from 12 Noon till 3:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 with Bro. Tommy Simpson officiating. He will be laid to rest beside other family members at Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
Memorial contributions may be made in Colton’s memory to: The Family OR Williamstown FRYSC, 300 Helton Street, Williamstown, KY 41097.
