Connie Mae Hornsby

Connie Mae Hornsby , 71, of Dry Ridge, KY passed away Friday November 15, 2019 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Williamstown, KY on Sunday March 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Cleveland and Loretta Cornelius Rider.

On September 16, 1967, she was married to Nathan B. Hornsby; he survives. Connie was a homemaker who invested much time and love into the raising of her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Great Smokey Mountains; she loved playing Bingo and cards and watching “General Hospital” on TV.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Nathan, of 52 years are two daughters: Lynn (Bill) Gilbert of Covington, KY, Laura Hornsby of Crittenden, KY; three sons: Ray Hornsby of Dry Ridge, KY, Steven (Nicole) Hornsby of Dry Ridge, KY, Todd (Tassie) Hornsby of Walton, KY; two sisters: Sharon Rider of Owenton, KY and Brenda McCormick of Williamstown, KY. Seven grandchildren also survive: Scott Gilbert, Julie Carlson, Courtney Hornsby, Christopher Hornsby, Cody Hornsby, Matthew Atkins and Sophia Hornsby, along with one great-granddaughter: Mary Carlson. Connie was preceded in death by one brother: Troy McCormick and two sisters: Barbara Lentine and Bonnie Huff.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 20, 2019 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Jerry Holifield officiating. Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bill, Christopher, Cody, Scott, Brian and Chris.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass, in care of Stanley Funeral Homes.
