Darryl Bailey

Darryl Bailey , 69, of Glencoe, KY, passed away on Thursday June 6, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood. Born on September 29, 1954, in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Alvis Clay and Rhunie Jackson Wilson Bailey.

On March 2, 1989, Darryl was united in marriage to the former Tassie Yvonne Fields; she survives. Darryl was, by all accounts, an excellent auto body repairman; this proved to be a trade and profession to which he devoted his entire life. Anything he was doing that was car-related…brought him much happiness and satisfaction.  Even when he was not doing major repairs on automobiles, one would find him tinkering around in the garage further enhancing his knowledge of vehicles. In his spare time, he also enjoyed working around the house and doing yard work.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 36 years, Tassie Bailey of Glencoe; two sisters: Faye Harvey of Elliston, Vaida (Aaron) Singleton of Florence; three brothers: David (Brenda) Bailey of Sparta, Deford (Sondra) Bailey of Verona, Verlin (Marlene) Bailey of Glencoe and two sister-n-laws: Coleen Bailey of Glencoe and Betty Tolson of North Judson, IN.  Also surviving are two grandchildren: Kaydence Marie Swafford and Raven Malachi.

He was preceded in death by a son: Nathan Bailey; five brothers: Jesse Bailey, R.J. Bailey, Vendus Bailey, Gary Bailey, Billy Ray Bailey-Tolson and two sisters: Nadine Wright and Odessa Riley.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona.  Funeral services will be conducted by his brother-n-law in the flesh and his brother-in-Christ, Brother Aaron Singleton beginning at 1:00.  Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
