David Eugene Clayton

Mr. David Clayton, a Florence resident, passed away at his residence on  Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the age of 59.

David was born in Newport, KY on March 20, 1964 to the late Richard "Whitey" Cooper and Vivian Creekmore Clayton.  He was a self employed and retired truck driver.  David was a songwriter, a fabulous singer, artist and had published poems.  He was a former D.J., liked to watch the Cincinnati Reds, loved to travel and play with his dog Buddy.  His family describes him as a kind hearted, loving, giving and shy man whom had a passion for all music.

David is survived by two daughters, April Clayton, Chy (Scott) Clayton, six brothers, Henry Clayton, Ronnie (Stephanie) Clayton, Kenny (Vivian) Cooper, Richard (Cathy) Cooper, Charlie (Tahani) Cooper, Danny (Jackie) Cooper, five sisters, Susan "Candy" (James) Green, Vivian "Darlene" (Johnny) True, Conna (Tom) Rauen, Michelle ("Speedy" Mosley), Vicki (Rocky) Gorman/Kendall, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his former wife Tammy Clayton, two sisters, Denise Allee and Renee Ackman.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 12-2pm with funeral to follow at 2pm.  Services will be at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge, KY.  Burial will be in the Corinth IOOF Cemetery.
