David Wayne Dixon was born November 26, 1963 in Covington, Kentucky and passed away December 4, 2024 at his residence in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky at the age of 61. He was the son of Sue Campbell of Liberty Township, OH and the late Wilford Dixon, Jr.
David was a graduate of Simon Kenton High School where he was a member of the 1981 State Championship basketball team. After high school he went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and then his Masters Degree from Thomas Moore University. David spent more than 30 years working for Siemens in Norwood as an IT specialist.
David was known to be very adventurous. He loved traveling and camping and he enjoyed "treasure hunting", especially metal detecting and searching for arrowheads. He also enjoying knife collecting with his son. David was always looking to learn new things and most recently was interested in virtual reality and AI. David was very passionate about running, especially in his younger days. He proudly participated in the Flying Pig Marathon many times, the Thanksgiving Day race in Cincinnati, and ran in the 2010 Boston Marathon. While he had many hobbies he enjoyed doing he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He was known as an extreme family man and always included his family in all of his adventures and hobbies, such as helping out with his son’s Boy Scout troop. He loved being surrounded by family and dearly loved his grandkids.
On April 15, 1989 David was united in marriage to the love of his life, Angela Kay Dennler Dixon. In addition his wife, he is survived by his son: Adam Dixon of Ft. Mitchell; his daughter: Mary Sprague, and her husband Mark, of Erlanger; three sisters: Dottie Miller (Jim) of Amelia, OH, Kathy Dixon and Sara Nichols both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and his three special granddaughters: Abigail, Amelia and Eleanor Sprague. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Esther Sprague, in 2020.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Grace Fellowship, 9379 Gunpowder Rd., Florence, KY 41042. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Grace Fellowship. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell.
