Donald Ray Combs, 90, a Williamstown, KY resident, died Friday January 27, 2023 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Born on July 2, 1932 in Williamstown, KY, he was the son of the late Leslie and Betty Billiter Combs. Donald was a mechanic by trade; he worked for Mike Albert Leasing and owned and operated his own Marathon Gas Station in Florence. Being a lifelong farmer, he was an avid outdoorsman; he had a special love and interest for hunting/trapping, beekeeping and gardening. In his lifetime, as a horticulturalist, he planted millions of trees across the country. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Survivors include one daughter: Patty (Jim) Bialik of Williamstown, KY and two grandchildren: Joshua Bialik and Sarah Bialik (Ben Yeager). He was the last of all his siblings which included his brothers: Charles Combs, Winston Combs and John Combs and sisters: Mary Carr, Martha Smith and Margaret Wells. He was also preceded in death by a son, Greg Combs. Visitation will be Friday February 3, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 2:00. He will be laid to rest in the Combs Family Cemetery on Baton Rouge Road in Williamstown with Full Military Honors.
