Donald Wayne Hensley

Mr. Donald Wayne Hensley, a resident of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the age of 80. He was the widower of the late Donna Pat Arnold Hensley. Born on April 28, 1944, to the late Wm. Cody Hensley and Martha Belle Webster Hensley. He was a veteran and he was drafted into the U.S. Army Signal Corps.  Donald was a former construction worker for Michels Construction in Covington, KY. He was known for his love of UK Basketball, gardening, fishing, his dogs, attending horse races, traveling to the mountains, and enjoying the outdoors. Donald was a kind man with a big heart, always ready to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his son, Marvin 'Tony' Wallace (Julie) of Crittenden, KY; his brother, Gary Hensley (Vicki) of Walton, KY; and his sisters, Gayle Smith of Bellevue, KY, Bobbi Riesenbeck (Robert) of Florence, KY, and Shelia Hensley of Dry Ridge, KY.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY, with full military honors. Rev. Gayliss Gaines will officiate the services. A celebration of life gathering will follow at his residence, where all friends and family are welcome to attend. Arrangements are being handled by Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home of Crittenden, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
