Donald Ray Mcdaniel

Mr. Donald Ray McDaniel of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Friday, April 14 at home at the age of 77.  Don was born April 12, 1946 in Pittsburg, Laurel County, KY. to the late Irvin McDaniel and Leona Gabbard McDaniel.  Don was a retired truck driver for ABF Freight Co. and a member of the Teamsters Local 100 in Cincinnati.  In his free time Don enjoyed playing pool, fishing, hunting, travel, bowling and visiting with friends at the Waffle House.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife: Debra Ann Jones McDaniel on Jan. 6, 2021.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter: April Lynn Theide in 2021 and by a sister: Mildred Burdine Kersey.  He was preceded by a brother: Bill E. McDaniel, Sr.

Don is survived by a son: Doug McDaniel and his wife Dawnita of Walton, KY., 1 stepdaughter: Melissa Pierson (Timothy Hagedorn) of Florence, KY., 1 sister: Judy Menninger and her husband Bob of Ft. Thomas, KY., 3 brothers: Robert McDaniel, Sr. and his wife Pauline of Dry Ridge, KY., Irvin McDaniel, Jr. and his wife: Naomi of Independence, KY., Jerry McDaniel of Crittenden, KY., Don has 6 grandchildren: Krystal Mosley of Covington, KY., Josh Sanders of Newport, KY., Angel Mosley of Kenton County, Doug McDaniel, Jr., Madelynn McDaniel of Walton, KY., Austin McDaniel of Dayton, KY., and he has 3 step grandchildren: Hunter Tucker of Florence, KY., Hayden "Trapper" Pierson of Cleves, OH., Abby Thomas of Grant County, KY., and he has 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ray McDaniel will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, April 20 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY. 41097.  Visitation will be there on Wednesday, April 19 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Republican Christian Church Cemetery in Harrison County, KY.  Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
