Donald Wayne Sustarich, Sr.

Mr. Donald W. Sustarich, Sr., a Crittenden resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center of Grant Co., on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the age of 79.  He was the loving and caring husband of Aundria Lynch Sustarich.

Donald was born on February 29, 1944 to the late Antonio and Melia Sustarich in Fonde, KY.  Donald attended the Jellico High School in Tennessee where he also played basketball. During this time in school, he met the love of his life, Aundria. They became married shortly thereafter and he worked as a plumbing inspector for the state of Kentucky for many years.  Donald was actively involved in the Crittenden Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 40+years, worked as a Leader for the R.A.'s where he was influential in the lives of many young men, and he was a church softball coach for several years.  Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, visiting the Tennessee mountains, playing cards, watching UK basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball.  His family describes him as a hard working, caring and loving man whom was a strong provider for the family.  He will be remembered for his unusual and funny sayings.  He never missed an opportunity to go watch his grandchildren play sports or spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Aundria, Donald is survived by one son Donnie Sustarich, Jr.(Kristen), two daughters, Michelle Smith (Dwayne), Elisha Stecht (Danny), seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Donald was preceded in death by his father Antonio Sustarich, mother, Melia Seivers and stepfather, Carl Seivers.

Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY.  Funeral services will be at 1pm.  Pastor Matt Holleran will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the Crittenden Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
