Donna Jean Schmidt

Donna Jean Schmidt was born August 26, 1942 in Taylor, Michigan and passed away June 18, 2023 in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 80.  She was the daughter of the late Effie and Laurene Aikens Meredith.

Donna was united in marriage to Harvey R. Schmidt who preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2007.  She is survived by two daughters: Betty Miller and Kathy Manning both of Crittenden; a son: David Schmidt (Emily) of Midway; a stepson: Steve Schmidt of Illinois; a sister: Janice Kohns of Michigan; 8 grandchildren: Christina, Ashley, Russell, Jeremy, Lance, Evelyn, Finnegan and Brooke; and 9 great grandchildren.

Donna was a homemaker and member of the Carters Chapel United Methodist Church in Crittenden.  She had many hobbies through the years.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family as well as quilting and crocheting.  She also loved the outdoors including farming and gardening.  Donna was also known to be very talented musically and could play the piano, organ, dulcimer and played the handbells at her church.  Most recently she took up dancing.

Visitation will be 12:00-3:00 PM, Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden.  Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Carters Chapel Cemetery.
