Dorothy Roberts Brock

Dorothy Brock , 101, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away peacefully Sunday December 6, 2020.  Born January 16, 1919 in Owen County, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Nazarene and Mabel Johnson Mason.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Garlon Brock; he preceded her in death in 1984.  As a young, new graduate of Georgetown College, she began teaching the 2 ^nd and 3rd grade at Long Ridge Elementary School; she continued her teaching career at New Liberty Elementary School teaching the 2 ^nd , 3 ^rd and 4 ^th grade. Afterwards, she and her husband moved to Shelbyville, IN for nine years; in 1959 they moved back to Grant County where she became a substitute teacher at Dry Ridge Elementary School.  For the next 20 years, she worked as a tour guide for Royal Travel; this allowed her to travel all over the country. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church where she served as the coordinator of the Young at Heart Club, lining up all their travel trips.

Dorothy leaves to carry on her legacy, one son: Gary Brock (long time friend, Judy Osborne)  of Dry Ridge, KY, one granddaughter: Sherry (Bud) Clark of Florence, KY, along with two great-grandchildren: Blake (Tiffany) Dills and Brennen Dills (and his girlfriend-Taleah) both of Williamstown, KY. She is also survived by a very special dog, "Jo Jo".

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitation is limited to immediate family and invited guests. Visitation will be Wednesday December 9, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00.  Burial will follow in Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
