On Monday, February 22, 2021 Dorothy Taylor Powers, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 98.
Dorothy was born on November 3, 1922 in Williamstown, Kentucky to the late O.B. and Edna Juett Taylor. On July 24, 1941 she was united in marriage to George Robert Powers and raised 3 children.
Dorothy was a woman of faith and loved others. These attributes were exemplified by her many years of service at the church she was a member of, Williamstown United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday school teacher, and served on the administrative council. She was also a vibrant member of the community, participating in various organizations throughout her adult years, she was a member of the Grant County Library Board, Past President of the Williamstown Woman’s Club, a member of the historical society, the 1988 Grant Countian of the Year, and was very active in school activities when her children were young.
She was preceded in death by her husband George and her daughter Tanya. Surviving is her son Richard (Vicki) Powers of Williamstown, and daughter Georganne (Bill) Burke of Carpinteria, CA, four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11:00am-12:00 noon Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Williamstown United Methodist Church. A private family funeral will follow at the church with burial in the Williamstown Cemetery.
