Douglas Orville Clifford, 79, of Owenton, KY, formerly of the Jonesville Community, passed away Wednesday May 18, 2022 at residence. Born January 17, 1943 in Mount Vernon, KY, he was the son of the late Jesse Raymond and Clara Belle Reynolds Clifford. On November 27, 1965, Douglas was united in marriage to the former Carolyn Faye Singleton; she survives. Upon graduation from Mt. Vernon High School, he proudly served his country from 1961-’65 in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era; he retired from the Air Force in 1991. In 1974, with a continued love for his country, he then joined the United States Navy, where he served till ’78; he then joined the Air Force Reserves. After retiring in 1998 from G.E. in Evendale, OH, as a pastime, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his greatest passion was spending time with his family. He was a member of Grant Masonic Lodge #85 and until his sickness; he was very active in his church, the Lighthouse Church in Owenton. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Faye Clifford, he is survived by one son: Stephen (Brooke) Clifford of Owenton; one daughter: Valerie (Raymond) Cook of Owenton; six grandchildren, all of whom lovingly: Jakob Ramsey of Jacksonville, FL, Alexandra Clifford, Victoria Clifford, Jonathan Blackburn, Joshua Blackburn and Angela Curtin, along with 14 great-grandchildren. A special nephew also survives: Dusty Emerson, along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Dale Clifford, Darrell Clifford and two sisters: Judy Clifford and Janet Clifford. Visitation will be Tuesday May 24, 2022 from 9:00 till 11:30 a.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes in Williamstown. A Masonic Service will be observed at 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:45 a.m. with Pastor Matt Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) with full Military Honors. Arrival time at KVC-N is 1:00 p.m.
