Mr. Douglas Howard Ritchie of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, October 12 at his residence at the age of 52. Mr. Ritchie was born September 29, 1968 in Covington, KY. to the late J. T. Ritchie and Sylvia Tipton Ritchie. Mr. Ritchie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and worked many years as a police officer for various northern Kentucky communities including Falmouth, Highland Heights as well as the Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Ritchie was a member of the Family Tabernacle Church of God. His family had operated the former Have A Heart Pantry in Dry Ridge. In his spare time Mr. Ritchie was a model train buff and enjoyed building the intricate detailed model railroad scenes. He enjoyed traveling to various re-enactment events as well as working with leather.
Mr. Ritchie was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Sylvia Tipton Ritchie.
Mr. Ritchie is survived by his wife: Annette Morris Ritchie, a daughter: Amanda Weaver and her husband Adam of Williamstown, KY., brothers: Jonathan Ritchie and his wife Vanessa of Florence, KY., Roger Ritchie and his wife Vickie of Beaver Creek, OH., Dan Ritchie and his wife Kari of Corinth, KY., David Ritchie and his wife Jennifer of Dry Ridge, KY., sisters: Debra Miller and her husband Rodney of Wilder, KY., Shelly Marshall and her husband Tim of Corinth, KY., 2 grandchildren: Riley Weaver and Michael Weaver both of Williamstown, KY.
There will be no visitation and services will be at the convenience of the family. If memorial contributions are desired they may be directed to the family of Douglas Howard Ritchie in care of the funeral home. The Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Ritchie.
