Dwight Elbert Searcy

Mr. Dwight E. Searcy, a Morningview resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center on October 9, 2022 at the age of 74.

Dwight was a retired High School Teacher of 27 years at Simon Kenton.  He was a UK alumni, loved fishing, had a passion for playing the guitar and listening to music, loved UK Basketball, football, Cincinnati Bengals and camping.  Dwight was a lifetime member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Woodman of the World.

Dwight is survived by his wife Beverly Jo Rushing Searcy, one son: Morgan W. (Rachel Ann) Searcy; one daughter: Victoria J. (Charles) Block-Hyde; one brother: Dr. Timothy L. (Brenda) Searcy; one sister: Glo Rita (Jim) Sparks and four grandchildren: Joey, Chris, Dylan and Lincoln.  He is preceded in death by two brothers: Pastor Doyle Searcy, Truett Searcy, and one sister: Gayle Williams.

A joint "Celebration of Life" will be held for both Dwight and his wife, Beverly Jo (who passed on Saturday October 22nd on Friday December 2, 2022) at 12 Noon at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home - Verona with Dr. Timothy Searcy officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral.  A private burial will take place at New Bethel Cemetery.
