Edna Audrey Coe

November 3, 1931 — June 17, 2024

Edna Audrey (Henderson) Coe, of Williamstown, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this world on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Audrey (as she was called by family and friends), was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky, on November 3, 1931, to parents Granville and Daisy Henderson. She spent her childhood years in Olive Hill where, as a very young woman, she met James Coe, her husband, to whom she was married for 25 years until his death on November 4, 1973. After retiring from restaurant work, she provided child care services to many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to draw pictures and cartoons for all of the children, and shared her love of books and country music. She always made the best cookies and candies at Christmas.

during her childhood in Olive Hill, at the age of 8 years, Audrey helped her parents raise her younger brothers and sisters: Loretta, Raymond, James, Roger, Anthony, Sharon, and Ronnie. Her mother, father, and six of her seven siblings preceded her in death.

Audrey and James lived in Hazard, Tompkinsville, Walton, and Corinth (all towns in Kentucky), and raised five children: Barbara Pelfrey, Jack Coe (wife Marian), Nancy Bradshaw (husband Troy), Raella Grubbs (husband John), and Debbie Ledington.

Audrey is survived by her brother, Ronnie, and all of her children, along with 8 grandchildren: Tara, Erin, Jesse, Kasey, Brandy, Risha, Derek, and Jarod; and 18 great grandchildren. She was proud of all of them.

A graveside celebration of life will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, at 2 PM at the Corinth Cemetery in Corinth, Kentucky.
