Eloise Vice Renaker

October 28, 1929 — April 23, 2023

Eloise Vice Renaker, 10/28/29 - 04/23/2023

Born October 28, 1929, in Fairview, KY, Eloise was the youngest of three daughters born to the late Fred Vice and Goldie Davis Vice. On Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, Eloise was quietly led by the angels into Heaven from her home at Dominion Senior Living in Florence, KY.

As a child on her parents' farm in Dry Ridge, Eloise dreamed of growing up and becoming a cowgirl. Instead, immediately following high school, she worked briefly as a teller at First National Bank in Cincinnati, OH before returning to Dry Ridge to work at Citizens Bank. She remained at Citizens Bank for several years until her husband, Johnnie, “surprised” her by purchasing a dairy bar in Deer Park, OH he’d seen advertised in the newspaper. He then dismantled, transported, and reassembled The Little Shrimp on an empty lot he owned in Dry Ridge, KY.  "The Shrimp" opened for business in September 1959 and for a woman who had sworn she would scrub floors before ever working in a restaurant, successfully ran The Little Shrimp for over 40 years.

Eloise felt blessed to have a close and loving family whom she enjoyed spending time with, as well as being part of a strong faith community. She was a lifelong member of Dry Ridge Christian Church and a frequent visitor at Florence Christian Church after relocating to Florence in 2013. In addition to being active in her church, Eloise was also a dedicated member of Eastern Star reaching the 60 year membership milestone. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, singing, horseback riding, dancing and desserts.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Struewing (Nick) of Florence, KY,  Jane Simmons (Brant) of Lebanon, OH, as well as daughters in love and spirit, Treisa Angel of Williamstown, KY, and Carol Bridgwater, Vevay, IN.

She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, Melissa Napier (Sam) of Williamstown, KY, Dr. Elizabeth Dalzell (Jamey) of Williamstown, KY, Jack Kelly (Amina) of Columbus, OH, Joseph Struewing of Florence, KY, Caleb Bridgwater of Richmond, VA, and Olivia Simmons, of Lebanon, OH; Great-grandchildren, Jessica Napier of Georgetown, KY, CPT Eric Napier (Kelsey Tibbles) of Watertown, NY, Maddie Dalzell (Cameron Wooddy) of Petersburg, VA, Ethan Dalzell of Williamstown, Ky, and Raveena Eloise Khan-Kelly of Columbus, OH. In addition, she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews whom she treasured.

She was pre-deceased by two husbands, CPL Claud Allen “Bud” Yelton in 1953, and John William “Johnnie” Renaker in 1982; two sisters: Florence Penick (2002) and Eula Rash Lilly (2021), and a stepson, John W. “Johnny Bill” Renaker II (2023). A service to honor Eloise will be planned for a later date at the family’s convenience. For those wishing to honor her memory, memorials are suggested to Fresh Start Shower Ministry at Florence Christian Church or Dry Ridge Christian Church.
