Elsie C. Ewbank

Elsie Cooper Ewbank , 75, a Warsaw resident, passed away Sunday June 14, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood. Born October 28, 1944 in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Brown and Jane Lawrence Cooper.

On June 10, 1967, Elsie was united in marriage to William Robert Ewbank; he preceded her in death on May 2, 2019. She was the first female to graduate from Western Kentucky University (WKU) with a Degree in Agriculture; she graduated with a double major in Agriculture and Biology. In 2002, she retired from the banking industry after many years. She was also a textile artist; she developed many useful skills through weaving, drawing and sewing. After retirement she, along with her late husband, ran a baking and jam business. She was a member of South Fork Christian Church.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy, one daughter: Virginia Ewbank of Warsaw, KY; one brother: Clifton Brown “C.B.” Cooper, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Grant Co., KY, and two special first cousins: Chester (Cathy) Lawrence, Jr of Sulphur, KY and Doug (Mindy) Lawrence of Campbellsburg, KY. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A committal service will be held Thursday June 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Floydsburg Cemetery (also known as Duncan Memorial Chapel)  in Oldham County.
