Elva Morguson

Elva Mullins Morguson , 83, of Verona, KY, died Thursday June 4, 2020 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Born in Breathitt County, KY on April 27, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion ”F.M.” & Lou Sinda Hatton Mullins.

She was united in marriage to James Morguson; he preceded her in death in June of ’07. She loved her cats and enjoyed the outdoors and working in her flower garden. She was a graduate of Gallatin Co. High School. She attended Family Tabernacle Church of God.

She leaves to carry on her legacy, one daughter: Brenda (Greg) Patterson of Glencoe, KY; one son: Timothy W. (Tammy) Cantrell of Verona, KY; one sister: Phyllis Pruett of Simpsonville, KY and one brother: Paul “Cathy” Mullins of Verona, KY. Six grandchildren also survive: Nicholas Lien, Amanda D. Cantrell, Brandon W. Cantrell, Sarah K. Patterson, Katie Patterson and Elijah G. Patterson, along with two great-grandchildren: Andrew B. Cantrell and Gwendolyn Olivia Lien. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Bernem “Pete” Everett Barnett.

Visitation will be Thursday June 11, 2020 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:oo at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Napoleon Cemetery.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and the new reopening requirements we will be limiting our building occupancy to 33% of normal capacity, so, please be prepared for a possible line as we will be monitoring the occupancy. We will also be strictly adhering to the 6 feet social distancing requirements.  We also wish to inform you that face coverings will be mandatory.
