Eva Watkins Mulberry

Eva Eliene Watkins Mulberry, a longtime resident of Williamstown, KY, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She was born August 9, 1933, in Scott County, Kentucky, one of six children of the late Claud Watkins and Sylvia Mae Vance.

On December 29, 1950, Eva was united in matrimony with Fred Lee Mulberry and was his devoted wife of nearly 70 years. She stood by his side through every season—weathering storms and celebrating harvests—not just on the farm, but in life. She is survived by her son, Garry Lee Mulberry of Williamstown, and daughter, Rhonda Faye (Bruce) Wright of Corinth; five grandchildren, Shelby (Chad) Jones, Lori (Kyle) Beasmore, Joshua (Leslee) Mulberry, Rachel (Rev. Kyle) Sullivan, and David Wright (Jamie); and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her sisters, Rhoda Mildred Hendricks and Thalma Jean Watkins. She is survived by her siblings Wilma Dean Sargent and James Claud Watkins. She entered heaven with her sister Betty Rose Hillard.

Eva attended the Mason Baptist Church in Grant County where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and her life was rooted in family and faith. She cultivated a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. She took pride in raising her children with strong values, teaching them the beauty of hard work and the quiet strength of kindness. Her grandchildren will always remember her loving heart and patient ways.  She always strived to be equal and fair to all.  Eva was a lifelong cattle and tobacco farmer.  She loved to work her flower garden, she enjoyed canning, was a member of TOPS, the Red Hat Club and the Mason Homemakers club.  She loved reading, cooking and was known for her fried apple pies, jam cakes, oyster dressing, green beans and cushaw pie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 4-8pm at Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, in Williamstown.  Rev. Jeff Sargent, Rev. Kyle Sullivan and Rev. Bill Kidwell will be officiating services.
