Evalyn Stewart Adams

Mrs. Evalyn Stewart Adams, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center at the age of 78.  She was the widow of the late Arthur Allen Adams.

Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and farmer most of her life.  She was a member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.  She loved to make quilts, cook and was widely known for her fried apple pies.  In previous years, local residents would see her smiling face at the Country Store in Mt. Zion, Southern States in Dry Ridge, as well as dry cleaning businesses and housekeeping for local businesses.

In addition to her late husband Arthur, she was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Adams and parents, Clarence Stewart and Opal Lane Stewart.  Evalyn is survived by three sons, Edward "Eddie" Adams of Dry Ridge, KY, Donald (Debbie) Adams of Turner Station, KY, Howard Adams of Dry Ridge, KY, one daughter, Diane (Donald) Courtney of Crittenden, KY, two brothers, Glenn (Sue) Stewart of Dry Ridge, KY, Garney (Lorna) Stewart of Dry Ridge, KY, five sisters, Alma (Glenn) Nolan of Stanton, KY, Ceberta (Albert)Thomas of Williamstown, KY, Janice (Jerry) Stone of Dry Ridge, KY, Edna (Darrell) Whaley of Dry Ridge, KY, Kathy (Bobby) Burgess of Dry Ridge, KY, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 4-8pm at the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.  Funeral will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11am at the church.  Dave Shanklin will be officiating services.  Burial will follow at the Williamstown Cemetery in Williamstown, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.
