Florabell Napier

April 4, 1928 — January 22, 2024

Florabell Sizemore Napier was born April 4, 1928 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky and passed away January 22, 2024 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 95.  She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Susan Robinson Sizemore.

Florabell loved working, which she did until she was 88 years old, and had many jobs throughout her life.  She was a cosmetology instructor and owned her own cosmetology school, Covington Beauty College. She built airplane engines in Michigan during the war, had her barber license, and was a real estate agent.  The last 18 years of work was spent with Super 8 Motel where she had many roles including night clerk, receptionist and breakfast buffet attendant and she was the KY state inspector for the barber and beauty board.  When she wasn't working, Florabell was involved in several civic organizations and had many hobbies.  She was a 4-H Youth Leader and a Worthy Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star in Walton, KY.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching gameshows along with yard selling.  She loved the outdoors and could often be found soaking up the sun while bird watching, gardening, and flower gardening.  One of her favorite parts of nature were trees and the many wildlife that inhabited them. She held many roles, but the most important was that of a mother, grandmother to four, and great grandmother to six grandsons.

Florabell dearly loved her family.  She enjoyed spending time with and being involved in their lives.  She leaves an amazing legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by each of them.

She is survived by her daughter, Billie Carmack, and her husband Richard, of Williamstown; a brother, Thomas Sizemore, of Michigan; a sister, Louise Sizemore, of North Carolina; four grandchildren: Stanley (Jacqalynn) Riley, Paige (Storm) Mason, Emily (Lucas) Hampton and Destiny (Stanley) Mullen; and six great grandchildren: Gus and Oak Mason, Boone and Brody Riley, and Max and Dallas Hampton.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.

In keeping with Florabell's wishes for a celebration of her life, her family requests that NO black clothing, only bright clothing, be worn to her services.
