Flossie Sadie Russell

Flossie Sadie Powers Russell was born February 3, 1930 in Corbin, Kentucky and passed away April 21, 2021 in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 91.  She was the daughter of the late Preston Barry and Clara Elizabeth Pemberton Powers.

On April 29, 1953 Flossie was united in marriage to Oscar Clay Russell, Jr. who preceded her in death.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Pam Raleigh and a son: Terry Russell both in 2021; and a sister: Alma Baker.

Flossie is survived by 2 sons: Robert Russell and Phillip Russell (Debra) both of Covington; a daughter-in-law: Shirley Russell of Falmouth; a brother: Elmer Powers of Union; 2 sisters: Christine Powers of Taylor Mill and Pauline Effers of Cincinnati; 13 Grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Flossie retired as a factory worker with Kenner Toys after 23 years.  She was also a homemaker.  Flossie always enjoyed going to church and was very involved.  She loved to crochet and knit and enjoyed music and singing.

Graveside services will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Napoleon Cemetery in Gallatin Co.  Rev. Tom Calloway will be officiating.  Burial will follow.
