Gary Alan Burdine , 73, of Verona, KY, entered his eternal home on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing in Hillsboro, OH. Born on July 4, 1951, in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Anna Mae Truett Burdine.
On February 14, 1970, Gary was united in marriage to the former Joan Marie Edwards; she survives. Upon graduating from high school he entered the U.S. Army. By profession, he was a self-employed Farrier and Blacksmith. Previously, he was a truck driver for IMI Concrete Inc. He had a passion for anything to do with horses; he loved traveling to the Cumberland Gap, but being with family brought him his greatest fulfillment. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Crittenden.
Those left to carry on his memory include his wife of 54 years, Joan Burdine; one son: James Travis (Brook) Burdine of Verona, KY; two daughters: Audra Marie (Kenneth) Horne of Mesa, AZ, Sara Lisbeth Burdine of Verona, KY and one sister: Frances Dean Kimberlin of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Madeleine, Emily, Matthew, Hayden, Rachel and Felicity, along with three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Gary Arthur Burdine.
Visitation will be Saturday December 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with James Truett officiating.
