Gary Lee Denney , 76, a resident of Glencoe, KY, died Wednesday morning April 17, 2019 in Lexington, KY. Born July 8, 1942 in Kansas City, MO, he was the son the late Kenneth and Mary Horn Denney.

On March 18, 2000, he was united in marriage to the former Sharon Vanover; she survives. He was the Manager of Quality Assurance at TTX Railroad in California; he also served in that capacity at Progress Rail in Florida as well as Covington, KY. Upon retirement, he worked for MedCare Pharmacy. He invested many years of his life as a leader in Boy Scouts of America. He also volunteered as a firefighter for Natomas Fire Protection District in Sacramento, CA; he umpired Little League and coached Soccer League in Oroville, CA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Sharon, include one son: Jason (Sharon) Denney of Benicia, CA; one daughter: Hillarie Ann Denney of Pittsburg, CA; one step-daughter: Sharon Whitis of Verona, KY; one sister: Janet (Chuck) Leslie of Roseville, CA.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona on Tuesday April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. Funeral services will begin at noon. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in KY Veteran Cemetery-North in Williamstown with full Military Honors.
