Gary Wayne Lewis

Gary Wayne Lewis was born March 18, 1953 in Grant County, Kentucky and passed away December 11, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 70.  He was the son of the late Robert Edward and Dorothy Mae Robinson Lewis.

Gary was a retired manager with Signode in Florence and a member of the Vine Run Baptist Church in Dry Ridge where he served as a trustee.  He loved coaching baseball and softball and mowing the grass.  He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and Cincinnati Bengals fan.  But most of all he loved his whole family, especially his grandkids and going to watch them play their many sports.  He also loved his church family and friends.

On Feb. 7, 1987 Gary was united marriage to Janet Beach Lewis.  In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by his children: Jeremy Lewis (Julie), Jamey Lewis (Sheila), Skye Hungler (Brad), Desirae Jones (Todd), Brian Stewart, Karrie Simpson (Brian) and Brad Stewart (Lora); two brothers: Perry Lewis (Barbara) and David Lewis; two sisters: Shirley Osborne (Roy) and Nancy Wainscott; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by four brothers: Harold Lewis, Robert "Bobby" Lewis, Donald "Donnie" Lewis and Mark Anthony Lewis.

A memorial visitation will be held 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.
