Gary DeWayne Lucas of Guston, Kentucky

September 3, 1948 - January 19, 2020

Gary DeWayne Lucas , 71, a resident of Guston, KY, died Sunday January 19, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. Born on September 3, 1948 in Custer, KY, he was the son of Fern Quiggins Lucas and the late Willie Lucas.

Gary was an OTR trucker driver for Mark Allen Trucking in Elizabethtown, KY. He was a 1966 graduate of Breckinridge County High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He loved working on and restoring older classic cars. He will long be remembered as a gentle-spirited man that loved his family and would do anything for anybody!!

Survivors include his mother: Fern Quiggins Lucas of Custer, KY; three daughters: Christy Lucas of Bowling Green, KY, Joy Lucas of Bowling Green, KY, Teddi Lucas of Russellville, KY; two brothers: Kenny Lucas, Donnie Lucas and his wife, Carolyn, of Custer, KY, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Darryl Lucas .

A memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY has been entrusted with Mr. Lucas’ arrangements.
