Gary Smith of Louisville, Kentucky

January 8, 1965 - June 17, 2023

Gary Smith , 58, of Louisville, KY, died on Saturday June 17, 2023 at Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Louisville.  Born on January 8, 1965 in Middletown, OH, he was the son of Ellen (Smith) Privett and the late Harvey Smith.

Gary was a production worker with Anderson Wood in Louisville.  He was a talented woodcraftsman, an experienced diesel mechanic and a devout Christian.  He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his mother: Ellen (Smith) Privett of Owenton; one son: Michael (Miranda) Derek Smith of Carlisle; three daughters: Amy (Robert) Brown of Carlisle, Brigette (Smith) Maiden of Carrollton, Elizabeth Smith of Owenton and one brother: Philip Smith of Paducah, along with 12 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father: Harvey Smith and two brothers: Jeffery Smith and Robert Smith.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth; there will be no visitation prior to the funeral. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday June 30 at New Columbus Cemetery. (The exact time of graveside has not yet been determined.)
