Geneva Dawalt Hisel

September 25, 1926 — September 27, 2018

Mrs. Geneva Dawalt Hisel of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Thursday, September 27 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown, KY. at the age of 92.  Mrs. Hisel was born September 25, 1926 in Pendleton County, KY. to the late Leland Dawalt and Ora Caldwell Dawalt.  Mrs. Hisel was a homemaker and a former school bus driver for the Grant County School System and worked in the cafeteria at the Grant County High School.  Mrs. Hisel made a profession of faith in Jesus as Lord many years ago and was a longtime member of the Knoxville Baptist Church where she worked tirelessly in any task that needed to be done and she worked with the young children in the Sunbeam program in the Missions Organization.  Mrs. Hisel was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan, a charter member of the Eagle Creek Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf for many years.  She also enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards.  She will be most fondly remembered by her family for her love and devotion to them.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hisel was preceded in death by her husband: Robert R. Hisel on August 30, 1996.  She was preceded in death by a daughter: Renita Jane Kirk, by a brother: John F. Dawalt and by a great grandchild: Kelley James Musgrave.

Mrs. Hisel is survived by a son: Robert R. Hisel, Jr. of Newport, KY., daughters: Carol Ann Musgrave of Dry Ridge, KY., Belinda Sue True of Dry Ridge, KY., a twin sister: Jean Ruby of Dry Ridge, KY., sister: Norma Lawrence of Florence, KY., 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Dawalt Hisel will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Knoxville Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Beighle officiating.  Visitation will also be at the Knoxville Baptist Church on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.

Those serving as pallbearers are: Geoff Musgrave, Joey Musgrave, Dylan Schlueter, Dewey Schlueter, Jeffrey Ford, Martin King.

Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Knoxville Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
