Geneva Barnett Long

Geneva Barnett Long , 80, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered into her eternal home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Florence.  Born on February 4,1944 in Berea, KY, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Dealie Owen Barnett.

On August 21, 1966 she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Long; he preceded her in death on August 5, 2021.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and worked as an Administrative Assistant for American Financial until her retirement. One of her favorite pastimes was reading but the focal part of her life centered around her family; especially her grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Nan”.  Her two grandchildren, Trinity and Joshua, will forever cherish the countless times she took them everywhere they needed to be and the many times she and their “Papaw” took them to see new movies.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Carrying on her legacy of love and family is one son: Scott Brian (Tammy) Long; one granddaughter, Trinity (Brandon) Lewis and a grandson, Joshua Long, all of Dry Ridge.

Visitation will be Thursday June 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown.  Funeral services will begin at 12:45 with Bro. Charles Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- North in Williamstown where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Charles. Arrival time at KVC-N is scheduled for 2:00
