Geneva Williams

Geneva Williams of Dry Ridge, KY was born December 2, 1931 in Clay County, KY and died Thursday, August 22, 2024 in Edgewood, KY at the age of 92 years.

She was the daughter of the late Sim and Ora Hare Owens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cherry Grove Pentecostal Church of God. On April 30, 1947 she was united in marriage to her husband, Rev. Thurston Williams who preceded her in death in 2009. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Charles Thurston Williams, one great granddaughter, Abigale Bullock; three sisters, Edna Smith, Dorothy Cornwell, and Sybil Browning; and four brothers, Virgil, Robert, Golden, and Lonnie Owens.

Surviving are two daughters, Norma Jean (Rev. Larry) Hammonds of Dry Ridge and Carol Lynn (Bill) Sturdivant of Walton; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Jewell Dorris of Dayton, OH.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY. and 10:30-11:30am Wednesday September 4, 2024 at the Cherry Grove Pentecostal Church of God, with funeral services to follow at 11:30am at the church. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
