George Kennedy Lockwood

George Kennedy Lockwood of Williamstown, KY was born January 17, 1935 in Louisa, KY and passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Florence, KY at the age of 88 years.

He was the son of the late Isaac Jacob and Jenka Wexler Kennedy Lockwood. He was a retired plant manager for Asplundh and a member of the Prestonsburg United Methodist Church. On December 31, 1956 he was united in marriage to his wife, Reda Carol Wheeler Lockwood. George was a dedicated member, former officer, and longtime supporter of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department for most of his adult life, he was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Jacob Lockwood; a granddaughter, Kristen Lee Carter; a sister, Dorothy Lockwood; and 3 brothers, Harold Lee “Buck” Lockwood, Rev. Quintin Lockwood, and Barry Lockwood.

Surviving is his wife, Reda Carol Lockwood of Williamstown, one daughter, Sheri (Randy) Breeden of Dry Ridge, one son, Michael K. (Vickie) Lockwood of Midland, TX, two grandchildren, Jenka (Kyle) Conrad of Texas and Jenna (Chris) Duncan of Dry Ridge, and a special friend Leon.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown with burial to follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Holbrook. Visitation will also be Saturday 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
