Glenna Smith , 74, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered into her eternal home in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 5, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Edgewood, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 22, 1949 in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Hiram Samuel and Emma Sullivan Osburn Kinman.
On October 15, 1971, she was united in marriage to Larry G. Smith; he survives. Under the administration of Sheriff Billy Points, she faithfully served her community as a Grant Co. Deputy Sheriff. Later she served as Manager of Food Service for the Dry Ridge Elementary School. Glenna was a vivacious, loving lady whom loved life and loved serving others but nothing was more important than spending time with her beautiful family. Upon her retirement, she loved visiting and ministering to the sick and shut-in. As a Matriarch of the family, she will long be remembered as the primary organizer of all family events; she enjoyed playing the piano, eating with family at Cracker Barrel and going shopping; she was adamant about getting her nails done and going to the beauty shop twice a week. She was a member of the Kentucky Education Association (KEA) and the Corinth Christian Church.
Glenna leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 53 years, Larry Smith; one son: Chris (Lisa) Smith of Dry Ridge, KY, three brothers: Kenneth Lee (Gerri) Kinman of Hartford, AL, Thurman Eugene (Claudine) Kinman of Jonesville, KY, Harold (Teresa) Kinman of Hartford, AL; one sister: Freda Mae (Wayne) Stephenson of Demossville, KY and her two lovely grandchildren: Kacia (Chase) Carey and Jansen Smith (Tabitha Lowe). She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Kinman, Estel Kinman and three sisters: Linda Woodyard, Nadine Martin and Betty Hunter.
