Gordon F. Taylor, a Williamstown resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Dry Ridge, KY, at the age of 80 years old. He was the husband of the late Edna Mae Mitts Taylor.
Gordon was a former oil truck driver for Grant County Oil in Williamstown, and later became the City Of Williamstown Water Superintendent where he worked for 22 years. Gordon was a former member of the Williamstown City Council, a Parkview Manor Board Member and Maintenance Supervisor. Gordon was a Mason for 50 years, and a Gideon. He faithfully attended Williamstown Baptist Church where he was a member, a deacon, a member of the finance committee, treasurer, and trustee, Sunday school director and Sunday school teacher. He also served as a former Board Member for Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. He loved woodworking, raising a garden, collecting tools and most of all, he cherished every moment spent with his wife, son and granddaughter Emily.
Gordon is survived by one son, Shannon (Lisa) Taylor of Dry Ridge, KY, four sisters, Ruth Ann (Dennis) Dressman of Florence, KY, Charlene Ginn of Dry Ridge, KY, Sue (Duane) Lawrence of Burlington, KY, Sheila Taylor of Owenton, KY and one granddaughter, Emily. In addition to his wife Edna Mae Mitts Taylor, Gordon is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Taylor and Jim Taylor.
Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2021 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Elliston Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral will be at 1 PM. Burial will follow at the Williamstown Cemetery in Williamstown, KY. Rev. David “Milkweed “ Wotier will be officiating services. Memorials are suggested to the Williamstown Baptist Church Building Fund.
