Gregory “Hunter” Odum, 64, of Williamstown, KY, (Formerly of Bristol, VA), passed away Friday October 7, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Born Friday December 20, 1957 in Bristol, VA, he was the son of the late Jake and Francis Odum, after their passing he was lovingly raised and adopted by his father’s brother and wife, Rev. “Shorty” and Grace Abel Odum. On May 15, 2004, "Hunter", as he was affectionately known and loved, was united in marriage to the former Christina “Tina” Lee Masters; she survives. After graduating from Virginia High School (Bristol) he went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Radford University and his Master’s Degree from Embry – Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. He spent the next 31 years dedicating himself and proudly serving his country as a Pilot in the U.S. Army. He was an accomplished builder; he loved boating and was an enthusiast when it came to buying, selling and re-trading. He was an active member of the Lakeside Campus of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Fort Mitchell. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Tina, include two sons: Richard Ian Hayes of Anderson Township, OH, Raleigh Garrett (Allison) Hayes of Loveland; two grandchildren: Eli Green Hayes and Aubrie Marie Hayes OH; one sister: Brenda (Carter) Wood of Birmingham, AL; his in-laws: Robert “Bob” and Sherry Masters and sister-n-law: Cyndi (Pam) Masters of Louisville, KY; an uncle and aunt: Ed and Billie Moody of Glade Springs, VA; a special nephew and niece: Nathan (Tatum) Odum and Ruby (Jack) Odum, along with numerous other most loved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday October 11, 2022 from 10:00 till 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 with Rev. Kelly McClendon officiating. Arrival time for burial is 2 p.m. in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery –North (KVC-N) in Williamstown, KY with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hunter’s memory to: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT. 06851 or Tunnels of Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, New York, NY 10306. Following the interment at KVC-N, a” Celebration of Life” service will be held at: Main Street Gardens, 1418 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY 41097.
