Gwendolyn Marksberry Dills

Gwendolyn Marksberry Dills was born December 23, 1942 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky and passed away August 12, 2023 at her residence at the age of 80.  She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Naomi Miller Marksberry.

Gwen was baptized early in life and remained a lifelong member of Dry Ridge Christian Church.  In addition to her church membership she was active in the community in several organizations, including, Kiwanis, Williamstown Woman's Club and the Grant County Chamber of Commerce.

Gwen was a retired insurance agent and co-owner of Dills Insurance in Dry Ridge.  Before becoming an insurance agent she was an elementary teacher having taught 2nd Grade at Dry Ridge Elementary.  In her free time she enjoyed several hobbies.  She enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her yard or flower garden and she could often be found mowing on her zero turn lawn mower.  She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and Perdido Beach, Alabama where she loved spending time at the beach.

On Nov. 2, 1963 she was united in marriage to Charles E. Dills, who preceded her in death in 2014 shortly after celebrating their 50th Anniversary.  She is survived by 2 daughters: Missy (JP) Colson of Dry Ridge and Karen Dills of Dry Ridge; a son: Chuck (Sarah) Dills of Williamstown; a brother: Larry Marksberry of Florida; a sister: Mary Jo (Ray) Kinmon of Williamstown; a sister-in-law: Becky Marksberry of Hebron; 9 grandchildren: Blake (Tiffany) Dills, Hannah (Devin) Hurley, Brennen (Taleah) Dills, Cameron (Shayna) Beavers, Jemison Beavers, Hunter Colson, Bianca Dills, Brooklynn Dills and Brylee Dills; 4 great grandchildren: Shiloh Hurley, August Dills, Beckham Dills and Selah Hurley; and many nieces and nephews.

Gwen was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Rose Dills, and a brother, Charles Marksberry.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Dry Ridge Christian Church, 13 School St., Dry Ridge, KY  41035.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday at Dry Ridge Christian Church.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
