Mrs. Hazel Lee Fields, a Verona resident, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 79. She was the widow of the late Douglas Fields, Jr.
Hazel was born on April 18, 1942 in Oneida, KY to the late William Lee and Verda Wynn Lee. She is survived by two sons, Gaylon E. Fields, Sam Fields, two daughters, Shirley G. Isaacs, Tassie (Darryl) Bailey, two sisters, Mary J. Gibbons, Goldia Lee, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Douglas, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Miskell, brother, Rev. Sill Lee, and four sisters, Susie Lee, Della Spurlock, Delphia Davidson and Martha Grubb.
Hazel was a farmer her entire life. Her passion was always being in the outdoors on the farm. She loved to grow flowers and vegetables in her gardens. She loved canning, quilting, sewing and cooking. She was known to be a jokester and loved to laugh with family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 11am-1pm at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY. Funeral services will be at 1pm. Rev. George Naylor will be officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday at 12 noon at the Lee Family Cemetery in Oneida, KY.
