Hazel Jenkins Mcmillian

October 4, 1945 — November 14, 2024

Hazel Jannette McMillian , 79, of Corinth, KY, entered into her eternal home on Thursday November 14, 2024 at the home of her son, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on Thursday October 4, 1945 in Harrison County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Sylvia Mae Edwards Jenkins.

On June 26, 1964, Hazel was united in marriage to Floyd Lee McMillian; he preceded her in death. Until she retired, she was employed by the Owen County Board of Education; she transported pupils daily on the bus.  She loved camping, quilting, fishing, planting and growing vegetables in her garden, but will best be remembered as “Miss Betty Crocker” because of her meticulous baking skills.  She was a member of Stonewall Church of God.

Hazel leaves to carry on her legacy, her son: Tim (Tracy) McMillian, three daughters: Tina (David) McEntire of Corinth, Melinda Powers of Corinth, Betty Jo Cope of Florence; two sisters: Thelma Martin of Hesler and Anita Charlene Winkler of Corinth. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Jacqueline (Jamie) Lee, Taressa McEntire, Daniel (Samantha) McEntire, Serenity Claypool, Jordin (Kyle) Stull, Ravin (Kory) Kidwell, Brandon Cope, Amber Cope, Megan Cope, Marcus Cope and Tristen Penn, all of whom lovingly called her “Mamaw”, along with 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, whom affectionately called her “Mamaw Shug”.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 21,  2024 from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Homes, Corinth. Funeral services will be Friday November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Roger Wells officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Floyd McMillian, in Corinth I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are: Kyle Stull, Kory Kidwell, Phillip Claypool, Zachary Claypool, Daniel McEntire and Tristen Penn.  Honorary Pallbearers are: Marcus Cope and Larry J. Gallagher.

Memorial contributions may be made in Hazel’s memory to: Stonewall Church of God or St. Elizabeth Foundation, c/o Hospice Programs, 1 Medical Village Dr, Edgewood, KY  41017.
