Hazel Louise (Caldwell) Webster of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of Crittenden, Kentucky was born on February 2, 1929 in Crittenden and died Monday, June 17, 2024 in Dayton Ohio at the age of 95.
She was the daughter of the late Wilbur Newton and Ruth (Dickerson) Caldwell. Hazel was a cheerleader at Crittenden High School and became a Dictaphone operator for a business on the 14th floor of the Carew Tower in Cincinnati in the late 1940’s. She enjoyed raising a garden, her flowers, feeding the birds, and living the country life. She was known for her delicious desserts. Hazel later worked at the famous Quilt Box in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and quilted professionally, creating over 50 quilts. Hazel was a lifelong member of the Crittenden Christian Church.
On December 20, 1947, Hazel was married to Leo Gerald Webster, who died on March 29, 2024. They were devoted to each other, together over 76 years. Her daughter Jennifer Susan (Matthew Michael) Leclaire lives in Bellbrook, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Crittenden Christian Church, followed by burial in the Crittenden Cemetery. Visitation will also be Thursday 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Church.
