H. Roscoe Adams

H. Roscoe Adams was born December 11, 1923 in Williamstown, Kentucky and passed away March 1, 2020 in Dalton, Georgia at the age of 96.  He was the son of the late Albert Barnes "Barney" and Ora Viola Dance Adams.

On Dec. 28, 1949 Roscoe was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Trumbo Adams.  She preceded him in death in 2008.  He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers: A. Stanley Adams, Elwood Adams, Paul Adams, Kenneth Adams and Ronald Adams; and 2 sisters: Erma Lee Pettit and Ruby Taylor.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII.  He was also a retired Minister having served in many churches throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.  Those include: Mt. Olivet Christian Church in Williamstown, KY; Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Aurora, IN; North Vernon Christian Church in North Vernon, IN; Central Church of Christ in Findlay, OH; Markle Church of Christ in Markle, IN; Central Christian Church in Charleston, IL; West Akron Church of Christ in Akron, OH; and Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown, KY. After his retirement he also served in a winter ministry at Holiday Manor Mobile Home Park in Naples, FL.

Roscoe is survived by 2 daughters: Sherry Lynn Carter of Dalton, GA and Sarah Jan Harvey of Huntington, IN; a granddaughter: Claire Harvey of Huntington, IN; and a grandson: William Harvey of Huntington, IN.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
